Rob Vincent Rated as Top-25 Pro Prospect

Topdrawersoccer.com Pro Prospect List

CHARLESTON, W. Va.
– University of Charleston junior men’s soccer player Rob Vincent has been named the No. 13 underclassmen pro prospect in the country, according to TopDrawerSoccer.com.

He was the only NCAA Division II player on the 25-man underclassmen list. On the seniors’ board, only one other non-Division I player is on the ledger, coming in at 64 out of the 100 players on the top seniors list.

Vincent, a 5-10 midfielder from Liverpool, England, was second on the Golden Eagles’ team with 26 points a season ago. He amassed nine goals and dished out a team-best eight assists on the season. Five of his nine goals were of the game-winning variety.

Vincent, the 2009 WVIAC Player of the Year, was first in the WVIAC in game-winning goals (5), tied for first in the league in assists (8), second in points (26) and goals (9), third in points per game (1.30) and assists per game (0.40), while finishing fifth in goals per game (0.45) last season.

Vincent helped guide UC to a 16-4-1 overall mark on the season while taking the WVIAC Tournament Championship with a 1-0 win over WV Wesleyan. He helped the team to the NCAA Round of 16 with a win over Shippensburg in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional semifinal. Vincent was also tabbed as the WVIAC’s Player of the Year.

The Golden Eagles are preseason favorites to win the West Virginia Conference in 2011 after back-to-back trips the NCAA Tournament and WVIAC titles. Under the direction of first-year head coach Chris Grassie, UC will open its season Sept. 3 at 2010 NCAA Tournament participant Mercyhurst.
